About Us

Good Morning Good Day Cafe is a unique cafe, bakery, and Eastern European restaurant located in Streator, IL. We specialize in Slovenian and Croatian cuisine and serve the best crepes and coffee around. We also offer fresh fruit, baguettes, salads, soups, schnitzel, apple strudel, and more. We also make a commitment to sustainability by using recycled, repurposed, and reused materials throughout our cafe. Our private dining room is available for special occasions. Founded in 2022, Good Morning Good Day Cafe has become a staple in the Streator community. We strive to provide the best Eastern European cuisine and coffee in town, and we take pride in our commitment to sustainability. Toni brings her family’s immigration story and delicious Croatian/Slovenian recipes to this modest town in the most humbling and heartwarming way. Upon arrival, you may sit wherever you want and enjoy the beautiful tables and easy music that makes you feel like you’ve traveled to their home without ever buying a plane ticket. The beauty comes from the family heirlooms, collectibles by Toni herself, each with a unique story worth listening to Toni talk about. I had the joy of conversing with her for a long while as she shared her family’s story. I won’t give it away, come in yourself! She’s so kind. But once you’ve filled your heart, filled your soul with home made pastries and breakfast that will surprisingly leave you satisfied more than any fast food chain ever could. The coffee is light and fresh, the sausage and gravy streudel is incredible with its light and flaky phyllo, and elegant dishes. I was wowed by the Potica’s lightly sweet and slightly nutty flavor. You’ll love this paired with coffee.
